Located in the Southeastern corner of the Old City of Jerusalem. A walled-in platform is the site of both the first and second Temples - the religious and national focal point of the Jewish people for many generations. Today it is occupied by the Dome of the Rock and the El Aqza mosques. At the Northwestern end of the mount are the remains of Antonia Fortress dated to the time of Christ. On its Western flank is the Western Wall, a part of the original retaining wall of Temple Mount.
